Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. We do not keep or record those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to answer it. We keep that correspondence within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information whenever a page loads, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, such as popular pages and where visits end. You can block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected provider
- Maintaining site operation, speed, and reliability
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our content identifies the official custodians of Christian County records, including the sheriff, the 38th Judicial Circuit, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not turned into consumer reports or third-party criminal-history files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes shown on this site. Their privacy terms, not this policy, govern information entered into those tools. Each provider chooses its own retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control. Read the applicable provider policy before submitting information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, Missouri court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave our pages, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before giving that site personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold by us. It may be received by:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool
- Advertising networks that serve ads on our pages
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security measures intended to protect the information we collect. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary by residence and by the law that applies. In Missouri, public records are governed in part by the Missouri Sunshine Law, chapter 610, while state criminal-history dissemination is addressed by RSMo section 43.540. Those laws govern official custodians and do not turn this private site into a government records office. Where applicable law provides a right, you may:
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion when the law provides that option
- Decline certain processing where an opt-out right applies
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A new version takes effect when it is posted here, and the date below will be updated to reflect that change.
